To say 2017 was amazing would be an understatement. On January 27, 2017, I took the plunge, clocked out of my day job for the last time, and started my first day as a full time photographer. This has been my dream since I was 9 or 10 years old and I still can’t believe this is my life sometimes. My goal for 2017 was to really get to know my clients on a deeper level than ever before. I wanted to capture exactly WHO they were instead of making poses feel forced or unnatural. In return, I gained so many more friends than clients throughout this entire year and I am so thankful.

 

It was extremely difficult to pick “top” moments, but I will say that some of these are definitely my favorites. I traveled more this year than ever before, photographing weddings in 8 states. I learned how to say YES to the things I love and NO to the things I didn’t really want to do. I learned how to set better boundaries and how to soak up time with my family during busy seasons. I learned to slow down and enjoy life instead of rushing through to get to the next thing.
